Show Review: Hedley and Tailor Made Fable at Festivent de Lévis

ReviewShows— August 6, 2012 3:48 PM

 Review by Caitlin Grimes

It was on Thursday evening at the 30th edition of the Festivent in the city of Levis that we really got to witness some magic. Outdoor festivals are always some kind of toss in the air, all factors weighing in. When it called for rainstorms, very appropriate for Hedley’s last album, all we got was very, very hot sunshine all day long. Amazing weather means a very happy crowd and with an upcoming line-up like Tailor Made Fable and Hedley, I guess you can say the acts brought the storm to Levis, in a good way.

After the hot-air balloon lift-offs it is the band from la Beauce, Tailor Made Fable, who took to the stage. I couldn’t help but smile the whole way through their set. I was blown away. It was my first time seeing them live and I can honestly say they amazed every single person in the crowd with their talent and the ease they seemed to carry on stage. It looked like they had been doing this for years and years. With songs like “Monday Morning”, they got the crowd clapping even before they even signaled to do so. I noticed something I never got to see before when lead singer Rémi hid backstage while his guitarists took control and sung something of their own. It is rare to see something like that happen and I was pleasantly surprised. They even did a few covers like “Black or White” from the legendary Michael Jackson and “Whole Lotta Love” from Led Zeppelin. But it is really their cover of Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” that was the highlight for me. It was perfect. Needless to say, these guys really know what they are doing and in my opinion should`ve had their own headlining night. Tailor Made Fable is more than an opening act, trust me.

The Quebec POP ROCKERS to perform at the STAPLES Center next December 1st!

(Québec, 9th November 2011) – It’s next November 28th that Quebec pop rockers, Tailor Made Fable, head west once again returning to California for another week long stay in the City of Angels. The Fab five have another golden opportunity to perform in the event  the L.A. Kings Live Music Night presented by Rocco’s Old School Tattoo Balm Concert Series.  The lads will be performing Next Dec 1st at the personal invitation of Luc Robitaille, former star winger, hockey hall of famer, and now President of Business Operations for the Los Angeles Kings hockey franchise.

« The boys of Tailor Made Fable are extremely talented and serious about their music , they’ve got a good team built around them and its a pleasure for me to give them a helping hand in their efforts to pierce the L.A music scene » said Luc Robitaille.

The group’s manager Dany H. Poulin adds: « The chance meeting with Luc occurred during TMF’s U.S Summer Tour. We all became fast friends and then built on that friendship during our participation in the Quebec in Hollywood event that took place last September. Luc had invited the Vice-President of Marketing for the Kings and his team to discovered the band and their music and after a few get-togethers, they gave us an official invitation to be part of the cL.A Kings Live Music Night. TMF will open the series of concerts at the STAPLES Center with two fifteen minute sets at the City View Terrace in the STAPLES Center which overhangs the  Plaza of the NOKIA Theatre, between periods, the crowd at the center will also  be able to see and hear TMF as well on the videoboard!

And as a bonus, Rémi Chassé, accompanied by two other band members, will sing the pre-game National Anthem in front of the 18,000 fans that will be in attendance. It’s an incredible window of visibility for TMF and a chance to show the West Coast Scene what we’ve got and in a big way. We are really grateful for the opportunity that Luc and the Kings organization have offered us. »

Tailor Made Fable’s releases 1st of 4 EPs
Tailor Made Fable’s releases 1st of 4 EPs!

Le Quebec group launches Emerge And See in Canada the 16th of November.

(QUEBEC, October 25th 2011) We can now say beyond the shadow of a doubt, the pop rock fab-five of Tailor Made Fable weren’t resting on their laurels last year. To be precise, having kicked off the new year in Nashville working on the Pre-Production of their new material and after having performed in over 30 shows from New York to Los Angeles with pit stops in Philadelphia, Nashville, Milwaukee, Chicago and Austin in between, the group is back in Quebec to unveil Emerge And See, the first of a series 4 forthcoming EPs!

« We’ve actually written over 30 new songs since the release of our debut album and it was hard to pick and choose given the quality of the material. As a joke we said to our producer and manager Dany H. Poulin that we should release a double album and he said why don’t we record 4 six song EPs instead and release one every 6 months over the next 2 years? The boys said Yeah! Lets give the fans 24 new songs over the next 24 months they’ve been so good to us and we’re just dying to play these new songs for them! »To quote the stoked lead singer  Rémi Chassé

Emerge And See contains six new songs including a cover of the mega-success You Got It, originally penned and performed by the legendary Roy Orbison. On the cover, we can find a work of the famed artist Martin Bureau who collaborated on the project.

« We are fortunate to work with such a dynamic team at our record label (Disques VivaMusik Records) which, in spite of the difficulties faced today in the music industry, believes in us more than ever and provides the financial and technical means to be able to offer such a high quality product to our great fans, we are truly privileged» said Hubert Maheux, guitarist and producer.  The album will be available in store the 15th of November as well as on iTunes the 16th of November. The distribution is handled by DEP / Universal Music Canada.

TMF Celebrates ROY ORBISON

Tailor Made Fable Celebrates
Roy Orbison!

Barbara Orbison, widow of the legendary singer, adores their cover of YOU GOT IT

NASHVILLE, Tennessee, (April 24, 2011) - After their head-turning performances at the Canadian Music Fest in Toronto and South By South West in Austin last month, Quebec rockers Tailor Made Fable were thrilled to find out last Thursday that their version of Roy Orbison’s mega-hit ‘’You Got It’’  was selected for inclusion in a new compilation album, celebrating  the 75th birthday of the legendary artist.

Voted into the Rock' n Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, Roy Orbison was born April 23 1936 in Vernon, Texas. With more than 25 million albums sold around the world and 50 gold records, he was, without a doubt, one of Rock n’ Roll’s greatest innovators.

In February 2011, Barbara Orbison, president of Barbara Orbison Productions, invited a select group of new and emerging groups/artists to record their interpretation of a song of their choice from Roy Orbison’s back catalogue to    coincide with the celebration of his 75th anniversary.

Operating in the United States, Dany H. Poulin manager and producer of Tailor Made Fable along with Paul Zamek (Zamek World Marketing) met with Mrs Orbison in Nashville and introduced her to the boys. Charmed by the talent of the Quebec rockers, she approved of TMF’s song choice from her late husband’s back catalogue.

The song was recorded in less than two days by the band and mixed at Studio Sismique in Quebec by Yves Drolet and Hubert Maheux and finally presented for approval and commentary at Mrs. Orbison’s Nashville offices a few weeks later.

'' Very well done! One of the best versions ever done of this song.
I love it!'
Barbara Orbison

The respected businesswoman loved the group’s version so much, that she gave her approval to the group’s label (Disques VivaMusik (2010)) to release the song as a single in Québec and Canada, and to include it in the group’s second album to be released this fall.

The Quebec and Canadian public will be able to hear the new version of the song as interpreted by Tailor Made Fable in the coming weeks. The song will also be available for download on iTunes.

Co-written by Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, YOU GOT IT was the first single from the album Mystery Girl released in 1989 shortly after the singer’s death at the age of 52 in December 1988. The song was an instant hit and climbed the charts rapidly attaining Billboard’s Top Ten in a few weeks.

With a natural-born rock star on vocals, backed by take-no-prisoner musicians, Tailor Made Fable is definitely one of the most promising acts on the market right now. The band will be back in Quebec in May after a two month stay in the States.

‘’Quebec’s Fab Five’’ will work on their new album this summer, as well as make a few show stops in Quebec and Canada, before continuing their American tour on July 8th with an appearance at the Milwaukee Summer Fest in Wisconsin. Further tour dates will be announced shortly.

TAILOR MADE FABLE'S AMERICAN DREAM CONTINUES!

Tailor Made Fable’s American dream continues!

The Fab Five get their first US contract with a big league booking agency.

(Nashville, April 20th 2010) – Since their successful participation at the Canadian Music Week in Toronto and the subsequent RedGorilla Music Fest in Austin held last March during the South By South West, Tailor Made Fable has been hanging out in Nashville looking for American partners interested in further developing their career and this strategy is paying off.

In fact, right after their highly remarked performances at these two events as well as their Next Big Nashville triumph last October,  the group caught the eye and imagination of a number of important players in the U.S including BLA (Buddy Lee Attractions) one of the biggest and most important show promoters in the States.

After fruitful negotiations with U.S. partner Brian Waymire, the band’s manager and producer Dany H. Poulin negotiated an exclusive booking contract with BLA for the promotion and sale of Tailor Made Fable’s show in the U.S. for 2010-2011. Established in 1964, BLA represents or has represented a myriad of renowned artists including but not limited to: Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, Jason Aldean, Edgar Winter, Ringo Starr’s All Stars Band to name just a few.

The first windfall as a result of this new partnership is that TMF will be performing in Nashville for a roomful of music execs and industry stars at the renowned 12th and Porter next April 30th following which the next day they’ll head out to New York for a performance on May 4th  opening for  the American group SleeperStar at the prestigious Canal Room situated on  Broadway. Amongst the guests, a number of reps from the biggest American labels will be invited: Hollywood Records, Fueled by Ramen, Colombia Records, Atlantic Records, Epic Records as well as other major players.

The future is looking bright for Quebec’s TMF who will be back on the 8th of May to begin the first leg of their summer tour of Quebec in June and to begin writing new songs for their second album. Last but not least , don’t miss their performance on Canal Vox from the 15th to the 22nd of April showing their live performance taped at Le Cercle in Quebec City as part of the l’Émission LéZarts Studio.

An American odyssey and a new radio single for TMF!
An American odyssey and a new radio single for TMF!

''I Will Not Go Back, released as the third radio single from All These Questions.

(Montreal February 22nd 2010) – It’s a promising start to the New Year for pop rockers Tailor Made Fable! In fact, thanks to their head-turning performance at last Octobers’ Next Big Nashville, the band has stirred up the interest of a number of players within the American Recording Industry. The band’s Manager Dany H. Poulin and his team are adding the final touches to preparations for a two month hiatus in the States. The band will head down to Tennessee on March 12th with a quick pit stop in Toronto to strut their stuff in a showcase for the members of the Canadian Recording Industry at The Great Hall (1087 Queen Street West) during Canadian Music Week. One week later, TMF storms the stage inAustin, Texas as a headline performerat the RedGorilla Music Fest which is taking place during South by South West (SXSW).  After that, the group will be setting up base in Nashville for a series of shows, business meetings, and the writing and rehearsing of new tunes for their second album.

But before hitting the road TMF is releasing in Canada this week « I Will Not Go Back », their third radio single taken from their album All These Questions released last year. « I Will Not Go Back » will enshrine itself in the temple of Pure Power ballads. With its central theme of resilience and perseverance this excellent song written by Rémi Chassé, Mike Normand and composed in collaboration with Oliver Haze, speaks of hope and ultimate personal triumph against the shackles of conformity we confront in everyday existence.

« No matter what you say, I won’t fail
Nothing you say to me can break me down
I won’t change to play safe
Cause I will not go back…»

Undeniably powerful and addictive « I Will Not Go Back » shines a light on our desire to resist, persist and realize our individual dreams and aspirations.

Tailor Made Fable - Monday Morning - New Music Video
2009-09-17
A FRESH RADIO SINGLE FOR TAILOR MADE FABLE!

A FRESH RADIO SINGLE FOR

TAILOR MADE  FABLE!

''Monday Morning'', is the second single released for radio play this week.

(Montreal, September 2nd 2009) – After a quick pause to film their first video clip directed by Jean-René Grimard and produced by Disques VivaMusik Records,  pop rocks fab five Tailor Made Fable released « Monday Morning », as the second radio single off their debut album All These Questions released last spring. « Monday Morning » is a rocking new blue collar anthem with an original twist on a universal subject: the dreaded return to work on Monday morning!

With a meat and potatoes text mining the drudgery of  routine, black humor and a partying spirit, Mike Normand delivers a Rock n’ roll sermon about the fantasies and frustrations we all feel when faced with the inevitable approach of the unforgiving Monday morning alarm clocks ring!

«You never wanna wake up on Monday morning

You never wanna skip any holiday

You never wanna end up driving down the same old road…»

Completely addicting with its killer guitar riff intro, the tune « Monday Morning » is a bona fide new blue collar pop rock anthem inciting us to squeeze every last drop of party out of the weekend while waking the eternal adolescent slumbering in all of us faster than you can click play-repeat on your iPod!

«We only wanna make an exception tonight

An extension of our fair celebration time

We only wanna make an exception tonight

Escape the dreadful 9 to 5…»

All These Questions was produced by Oliver Haze with the collaboration of Stef Rancourt (Pascale Picard), mixed in Vancouver by John Webster (Aerosmith, The Cult, Jonas) and mastered in Los Angeles by none other than Eddy Schreyer (The Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, Queen). The album released last spring contains 12 original songs and is distributed by DEP / Universal Music Canada.

AT THE LEGENDARY CAVERN CLUB

The First time ever for a Quebec Group

Tailor Made Fable at the Legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool
!

(Montreal, July 17th 2008) It will be with a mix of awe and excitement that the four lads comprising Tailor Made Fable will board their flight next August 23rd to begin a weeklong
visit to Jolly old England culminating in a dream gig which has been the dream of many generations of musicians; that is, to walk onto the mythic Cavern Club stage, that very same location from which John, Paul, Georges and Ringo began their onslaught and conquest of the world music scene.

Comprised of Rémi Chassé (vocals, guitar, and piano), Mike Normand (guitar and vocals), Matt Boulanger (bass and vocals) and PE Beaudoin (drums and vocal), Tailor Made Fable are known for their hard driving rock, contagious melodies, and the uncommon originality of their lyrics.

<< Tailor Made Fable shines in the glow of their originality! >> Kathleen Lavoie, Le Soleil

After having won the first prize at the Festival Envol et Macadam which was held in Quebec in September 2007, Tailor Made Fable was invited by the Liverpool City Council to perform on stage as part of the Mathew Street Festival of Liverpool next August 25th.

According to the BBC, this festival is the largest annual event held in Europe presenting free outdoor shows. Their stages are renowned for hosting, year after year, as many young and upcoming groups from Liverpool and elsewhere alongside the world best established artists and acts.

Later in autumn 2007, the group signed a contract with Groupe UniSpec Group & Disques VivaMusik Records, founded by Dany H. Poulin, to further develop their recording and performing careers, both locally and internationally. Everything was picture perfect for the foursome (all native Beaucerons) based in Quebec, but they had no idea that the Liverpool festival still had another big surprise in store for them!

It is due to the work and collaboration between Simon Gaudry from the Festival Envol et Macadam and their manager and producer Dany H. Poulin that Tailor Made Fable will find themselves on the stage of the Cavern Club the evening of next august 25th as part of the International Beatles Week which runs from the 20 th until the 26 th of August 2008, in the very year Liverpool is named the European Capital of Culture.

Until then, Tailor Made Fable is working on the final touches of their first album which will be released in Canada next fall on the VivaMusik label. Their first highly anticipated radio single will be released in Quebec within a few weeks.

With the arrival this weekend of Paul McCartney in Quebec, what could be more extraordinary for the four members of Tailor Made Fable then a dream meeting with Sir Paul himself, making this whole adventure a truly ‘Tailor Made Fable’’ for the lads.
